Addiction Resources with MHN
With over 40 years in Behavioral Healthcare experience, MHN is focused on providing its members with the addiction resources needed to combat the rise in substance abuse and addiction within the United States. MHN partners and collaborates with leading behavioral health organizations to promote best practices and add to the awareness of behavioral health issues, including the Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness (ABHW), the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH), and the California Association of Health Plans (CAHP).
MHN Behavioral health plans (mental health and substance use disorder treatment) offer assessment and referral to a nationwide provider network, member services, care management and utilization review, quality management, claims administration and reporting.
Covered Addiction Treatment Services with MHN

MHN Behavioral Healthcare services and benefits can be tailored to specific customer requirements (within Federal Parity guidelines). MHN behavioral health care programs may include:
- Sessions with a counselor, therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist
- Treatment in a hospital or residential facility, including partial hospitalization and residential treatment programs
- Treatment follow-up and aftercare
- Crisis intervention available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- Care Management Services
Does MHN Cover Out-of-Network Providers?
MHN has a nationwide provider network of over 63,000 licensed practitioners and 1,500 hospitals and care facilities. Members are expected to seek treatment with one of these practitioners, hospitals or care facilities. Unless emergency services are received with no access to in-network providers, MHN will not cover out-of-network providers for addiction treatment services.
Inpatient Treatment with MHN
With thousands of providers, hospitals and care facilities to choose from, members have an extensive list of options when seeking inpatient treatment services for addiction. While MHN plans are tailored to fit the clients needs, most members do have coverage for inpatient treatment services. These services are typically subject to the deductible and/or copay for services rendered.

Outpatient Treatment with MHN
MHN offers its members with outpatient treatment services. These services range depending on the level of care needed. MHN’s care management team will help place a member into a program with the appropriate level of care within the vast provider network. MHN covered outpatient treatment services include;
- Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
- Intensive outpatient (IOP)
- Group Therapy
- Individual Therapy
- Psychiatric Evaluations and Management
