Organizations that Fight Against Drinking and DrivingPublished on September 1st, 2014
Drinking and driving accounts for thousands of vehicle accidents every year, many of which result in injury or death among those involved.
While there is no way to completely cut back on drinking and driving, as there will always be people who take part in this behavior, some organizations have set out to do their part in making things better.
Here are a few of the most well known organizations that fight against drinking and driving:
1. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). This organization has the mission of stopping drunk driving, preventing underage drinking, and supporting the victims of this crime.
2. Students Against Destructive Decisions. The goal of this group is to provide students of all ages with the tools necessary to deal with issues associated with impaired driving, underage drinking, drug use, and other destructive decisions.
3. Teens Against Drunk Driving. As the name suggests, this organization shows that many teens are committed to putting an end to drunk driving. Its mission is as follows: The eradication of the preventable, violent act of drunk, distracted and destructive driving.
4. International Drunk Driving Prevention Association (IDDPA). Drinking and driving is a big problem in the United States, but there are other parts of the world where this has become just as big an epidemic. This organization fights against drunk driving on an international level.
These are just a few of the many organizations that fight against drunk driving. There are many others, some on a state and local level, which share a similar mission and goals.
It can be a challenge for these organizations, as well as the authorities, to help people understand that drinking and driving is a crime that can have severe consequences. However, they have made an impact in the past and will continue to do so well into the future.
